WIPpet Wednesday
It is WIPpet Wednesday. Many thanks to Emily Witt, who initiated this wonderful WIPpet gathering.   I am still running behind. I now have a large container in my driveway. I am almost finished with clearing out my basement.

It is time for me to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwall

  • What am I reading?

PEAK: Secrets From The New Science Of Expertise by Anders Ericsson and Robert Pool and How To Become A Writer by Barbara Baig

  • What do I plan to read next?

The Violin Man’s Legacy by Seumas Gallacher, Magnolia Secret by Beth Hale.

Also still working on the final revision for my manuscript so that I can submit it back to my writing coach/book editor by the middle of August and concentrating on books by authors who have agent contracts with agencies where I want to submit, so that is slowing down my reading pace.

My WIPpet is 13 (20-7 and I hope my math is correct. I could be one off or one under.)

An introduction to what is happening in this scene: Phoebe does her second set and returns to the table where her friends are sitting to try and get out of riding home with Daniel.

The second set roused the audience; people stood on their feet, clapping on four different songs, the longest standing ovation being on the song, Georgia On My Mind.

Phoebe let her heart fly as she sang and the people flew with her, especially Daniel who could not hide the affect she was having on him.

After finishing the last set with her combo, Phoebe retuned to the table, hoping she could gently remove herself out of Daniel’s auto as she addressed him.

“You don’t have to take me home, Daniel. One of the guys said it was no problem for him to drop me off.” She turned away from him and started saying goodbye to the others.

“It’s not a problem, Phoebe. So, tell him, it’s not necessary, unless you’re afraid to ride with me. “

“Of course I’m not,” she said, turning to glare at him.

“Then, I’ll wait here while you get your things.”

“We’ll see you tomorrow around twelve, Phoebe,” Kirk said, breaking the tension between the two. “And don’t forget to pick up your car before you come to work because we might have to work longer.”

“You’ll see me tomorrow morning, Kirk, “ Phoebe said still glaring at Daniel. “Daniel has ordered me to report to him by eight a.m. and I don’t want to be late again.”

“No problem, Phoebe,” Daniel said, regarding her with a smile. “I’ve just changed the time of our appointment. We’ll discuss it on the way to your home.”

“Oh. Why?”

“It’s my prerogative.”

“Okay, if that’s what you want to do.”

“That’s exactly what I want to do, Phoebe.”

He’s up to something, Phoebe thought as she went to her combo to let them know she was leaving and would be riding home with Daniel.

That’s all, Folks!

Until next Wednesday,

Shalom aleichem,
