My Snippet is composed of 9 paragraphs. This is the beginning of Chapter 9. After this snippet, I will present something new.
Background and summary: Daniel sends Phoebe home early because of Quad 1’s soccer game. The weekend with the family turned out great, but something unexpected happened, which we will find out about in the snippet below.

Driving into Cochran Ltd on Monday morning, Phoebe was quite pleased with herself. Quad 1 scored at the last minute, and she and all her brood, including Granny, went to the ice cream parlor on Beethoven Street.
John, Quad 1’s coach, came in right before they were leaving and joined them. During the conversation, he asked her to accompany him to the Christmas Dance coming up at his school in December. He had been chosen by his director to be one of the chaperoned.
“John, I don’t think I can. I’ve just been chosen as project leader for a new project. Between the kids and that I just don’t have the time.”
“Yes, you do Phoebe,” Quad 1 said. “We’ll be good.”
“Phoebe,” John said, “The dance is in December. Maybe, you can arrange it so you can be there.”
“She will,” said the entire table and Phoebe looked at them sternly.
Wait until I get you guys home. We’re going to have a talk.
“John, let me think about this and get back to you. Right now, I need to get my brood home. They’re flipping.”
Everyone at the table laughed, including Phoebe.

That’s all, folks.
Be safe.
