We hear it often, those words that life is short. But we seldom think about it until something happens to us or to someone very close and dear. Yesterday, while sitting at Thanksgiving Dinner with old friends and new people who have the promise of becoming more than just an acquaintance, I thought about about Psalm 90, 12 . The Psalmist wrote " Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom". As we were eating, I thought of all those people with whom I have shared Thanksgiving Dinner with over the years while living in Germany and of those families I have shared Thanksgiving with among my family in the United States. Many of the people stationed in Germany have returned back to the United States and are leading successful christian lives there. But some of the people from my family and my friends have gone on to be with the Lord. So as I sat there, eating, I had a profound feeling of gratefulness. Gratefulness for all of those people who willingly or unwillingly have enriched my life; who for reasons unknown to themselves have made my life like a rainbow and have been a catalyst of change for me. Because of you all, I am not what I used to be and truly I am thankful. Be blessed today.
