It is WIPpet Wednesday and time to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.
So, here goes:
- What have I read?
Roxie Rivera's - Her Russian Protector Series
- What am I reading?
Madness & Obsession by Yolanda Renèe, and The Sign of the Green Dragon by C. Lee Mckenzie.
- What do I plan to read next?
I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne, Runaway Man by David Handler, and The Miracle of Small Things by Guilie Castillo Oriard.
For my WIPpet today, out of Just At Dawn, I have 13 lines from Chapter 3, which I am revising. (5-18= 13)
Background Summary: Daniel is back in his office. His personal admin, Maria, is standing at his office door in their executive suite waiting for him to acknowledge her.
My WIPpet:
Maria stood in the doorway of Daniel's office as he was preparing to leave for his meeting in the Marketing Department. With her arms folded across her, a frown on her forehead, the slightly heavyset woman, shook her head and grimaced when Daniel finally decided to acknowledge her. She liked Phoebe. They had become close despite Daniel's constant bickering.
"Why do I get the feeling you want to give me another one of your sermons?" Daniel asked.
"Maybe, because you know you deserve one, Boss. Why is Phoebe resigning?"
"She's not resigning; she just doesn't know it yet."
"Oh. And how do you plan on stopping her?"
"Good question, Maria. I haven't got an answer to that one yet."
Maria released a sigh. For the past year and a half, she'd been the conciliator between Daniel and Phoebe. At first, it had only been after the Marketing Meetings, but for the last two months, it had become an everyday thing. Daniel was constantly finding fault with something Phoebe did or he was very quick to misunderstand something Phoebe said. She knew he was a fair person, but when it came to Phoebe, he saw red.
That’s it, people. Have a great week and I’ll see you next Wednesday.
Shalom Aleichem,
Pat Garcia
